Want US$10k/month to taste ice cream? Deel and Snoop Dogg want you

Global hiring, payroll, and compliance platform Deel is partnering with Dr Bombay, the ice cream brand co-founded by Snoop Dogg, to hire its first-ever ice cream taste tester.

Deel has teamed up with Snoop Dogg’s ice cream brand, Dr Bombay, to hire an official ice cream taste tester. It is open, Deel noted in a statement, to anyone with “sharp cultural taste”, who is “plugged into food and flavour trends” and has the ability “to spot what’s about to hit before it goes mainstream”.

“An interest in food culture, content creation, or brand-building is a plus, and standout applicants will be those who bring a distinct voice and real enthusiasm to the Dr Bombay story,” the company said, as well as “curiosity, strong social instincts, and an outgoing personality – not culinary experience”.

Dr Bombay ice cream scientist Dr Maya Warren said: “At Dr Bombay, we craft ice cream flavours everyone loves – everyone around the world, meaning we need someone on staff who can serve as our global tastemaker.”

“I’ll take care of the science behind the scenes; you just need to bring curiosity, refined taste buds, and an appetite to have an impact on the future of Dr Bombay. By working with Deel, we can find our international ice cream taste tester in any corner of the world.”

The role is fully remote and open to anyone globally, albeit with regular check-ins with the team about flavours, trends, and ideas. Some travel is also expected. The successful applicant will work on a three-month contract basis, earning US$10,000 per month.

The initial engagement is a three-month collaboration between Deel and Dr Bombay, with the potential for future opportunities on the latter’s marketing team down the line.

Candidates, the platform said, “should be able to demonstrate exceptional taste – both literally and culturally”.

Snoop Dogg will personally call the successful applicant to advise them of their new employment and will be directly involved in reviewing shortlisted candidates.
