“I’m honoured to lead SAGE in the next phase of its growth journey working with the team under the leadership of chair Libby Lyons and the SAGE board,” said Dr Bredehoeft.

SAGE is a not-for-profit organisation that works to bring gender equity, diversity, and inclusion to the workforce. Dr Bredehoft will commence work at SAGE in December, utilising the Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s (WGEA) data to help improve areas such as gender pay gaps, pay equity, parental leave, gender strategy, and women in leadership.

Dr Bredehoeft will be taking over Wafa El-Adhami’s position, which she held for six years.

“The outgoing CEO, Dr Wafa El-Adhami, has left a fantastic legacy. I’m looking forward to building on the success of SAGE and to working with its community to help deliver on the government’s gender equity agenda,” said Dr Bredehoeft.

Dr El-Adhami said: “SAGE enables transformational change; I’m so proud of what we have achieved and extend warm congratulations to Dr Bredehoeft.”

Chair at SAGE, Libby Lyons is excited about the acquisition: “Dr Bredehoeft will be an incredible asset to SAGE. Her advocacy, leadership and achievements position her well to grow SAGE’s impact and influence nationally and internationally,” said Ms Lyons.

Ms Lyons added: “I’d like to thank Dr El-Adhami for her inspirational leadership of SAGE, positioning it as a national transformation program and building its international reputation and network of partners. We wish Wafa all the very best for the future.”
